We are excited to announce Sanergy is the recipient of a USAID Development Innovation Ventures (DIV) Stage 2 grant. DIV marries innovation and evidence to find, test, and scale breakthrough solutions to the world’s most intractable development challenges.

Florence Mwikali, Sanergy Field Officer, and the Kiva team paid a visit to Margaret, Fresh Life Operator and her granddaughter in Mukuru, Nairobi.
Recently, Sanergy received a real treat – the leaders of Kiva, Premal Shah and Matt Flannery, swung through Nairobi to meet with our team and our Fresh Life Operators.
Last week, Sanergy achieved a great milestone: one of our teammates from the Mukuru community, Samuel Muindi, purchased a Fresh Life Toilet for his family to run as a business. To us, this is a great validation of our model. Our team values Fresh Life so much that they will invest their hard earned savings in it. This week we interview Samuel Muindi, Processing Supervisor at Sanergy’s Waste Management Center to learn how he believes our work changes the community and why he purchased a Fresh Life Toilet.
Sanergy brought Earth Day back to its 1970 roots this week with a teach-in at HOPE Worldwide, highlighting the links between environmental degradation and human health for an audience of 300+ Mukuru, Nairobi youth. Read the rest of this entry »
Nairobi, Kenya, 19 April 2013 – A consortium of investors including Acumen Fund, SpringHill Equity Partners, and Eleos announced a growth stage investment in Sanergy, an innovative sanitation company that is providing low-cost toilet units and waste management services through a franchise model throughout urban slums in East Africa.
